I am required by my employer to use 9am Health in order to get a glp-1. My experience so far has been horrible. First, they make you pay for your bloodwork and require you to purchase a specific scale. I already have a scale. Second, they thought it was a good idea to prescribe an anti-depressant to help aid in weightloss. They did this without knowing enough of my history to know this is an awful option for me. My husband was prescribed a GLP-1 for other reasons that have nothing to do with weight loss and they are making him go through the 12 week program. My husband's case is very complicated and his doctor's are livid that this is required and it is keeping him from getting the medication he needs.
I would strongly advise against ever working with 9amHealth.

Hi Abby,
We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. Our goal is always to provide safe, effective, and individualized care, and we regret that your experience did not reflect that.
At 9amHealth, we follow evidence-based guidelines that prioritize starting with the lowest level of intervention. We encourage members to build sustainable habits through nutrition, movement, and coaching support before introducing medications like GLP-1s. These medications are often most effective when paired with lifestyle changes, which is why we take the time to guide members through this process.
As part of our safe prescribing protocol, we require up-to-date lab work and accurate weight tracking. We understand that asking you to purchase a specific scale may have been inconvenient, and we’ll be sharing this feedback with our internal team and your employer partner.
We also want to acknowledge your concern regarding the antidepressant. While some medications originally developed for other conditions can support weight loss for certain individuals, we never want a member to feel uncomfortable with a recommendation. We’re sorry that this option wasn’t a good fit for you and encourage you to reach out so we can review your care plan with you directly.
Regarding your husband’s situation, we understand that complex medical needs can’t always fit into a standard process. We’re always happy to coordinate care with outside providers and would gladly set up a time for our clinical team to speak directly with his doctors. He can reach out to us anytime to schedule that discussion.
Thank you again for the feedback — it’s incredibly valuable and helps us improve.
