Review of South Farm Holiday Cottages and Fishery

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The location of the farmhouse is beautiful

We loved the location of the farmhouse, beautiful and so quiet. But the roads all the way around the area are awful, very narrow which is okay but there’s so many potholes, you have to be very careful driving.
The farmhouse is very old and quirky, the grandchildren had such fun playing hide & seek. Being an old building there is always something that needs doing and the manager Justin has a good list of things that need doing to the house. I would say that the company needs to not advertise the AGA in the dining room, we were very excited at the prospect of using it as we have had one in a previous home of ours, but we were only told on arrival that it is too expensive to run and you need to pay extra, at no point in booking did it mention paying extra to use the AGA!
The hot tub is glorious and the children loved the barn play area and the outdoor playground, the swimming pool sits in a beautiful position overlooking glorious countryside, but out of use because of the time of year, but in the summer months it must be a wonderful place to spend time.
We had a very special and wonderful holiday at South Farm and would love to go again.
Justin the manager is amazing and such a kind and helpful man, thank you for all your help and support during our stay.

Thank you for the review Jacky.
We'd like to thank you for bringing the AGA to our attention and we have now updated the guest information accordingly. Regarding the local road network, this is one of the local characteristics that is outside of our control, however, we feel the traditional Devon lanes do contribute to the quality of the local environment.
We are delighted you had a special holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
