No respect for customer data

Beware with James Gibb. Had raised concerns that they have sent out my personal details to what could be up to 150 people without my express consent, especially given the new requirements under GDPR.

Complained to their data protection officer who looked into it and believes there is no issue with sending out my name and address (their customers data) without my consent to multiple people who i dont know and do not want to have my info.

Complaint will be escalated to ICO next.

no respect for customers or their property

Pathetic company with no respect for customers or their property. Avoid like the plague.

British Gas completely messed up my boiler installation and delayed the whole thing by a month. They then damaged my ceiling (water damage) and claimed it was not them despite BG being the only ones working in the area. They then went on to lie to the ADR service about this claiming it was not them. I was left covering the cost of repairing the ceiling with British Gas getting off with damaging the property, delaying a boiler installation for over a month and generally has shown no respect or remorse for what they have done.

After all that went wrong, i find out a few weeks ago they tried to cut my warranty by a month (on the basis that they thought the boiler was installed on time).

Stick with someone else, never trust this company.

Delays, leaks and damaged property.

Terrible boiler installation. After weeks of delays and issues and additional costs incurred by myself, boiler was installed and British Gas damaged my ceilings, and drilled into a listed building without permission. Instead of admitting fault they blame other builders on site.

Boiler installed had a leaking pipe which needed a call out to be tightened, floorboards left unscrewed, pipes left in voids which leaked.

You’d think paying a premium would mean avoiding this type of behaviour. Disgusting, avoid at all costs.

Complete waste of time

Complete waste of time. After months going through their process hoping for a fair outcome, their final determination in which you have 0 opportunity to question misses out fundamental parts of my complaint about British Gas. How this company is allowed to have any say in a complaints process is astonishing.

What a joke

What jokers - made a complaint to the Edinburgh office over a month ago, and other than an automated email saying they are busy and will respond within 5 working days. Nothing. No contact whatsoever. Despite their own complaints policy stating they will be in touch within 10 working days to confirm the complaint has been received. Why have a complaints policy if you wont follow it?

Avoid at all costs

Terrible company. if i had a choice i would never deal with them but unfortunately our residents association use them.. i have no idea why.

Been asking for some overhanging branches to be trimmed back as sap is falling on car and i have been advised that it will damage the paintwork.

Everytime i ask for the branches to be trimmed back i get nonsense excuses about how they believe the council will not allow it as its a conservation area. James Gibbs suggestion - to park elsewhere instead of using my own drive.

Why are James Gibbs guessing what the council will or will not do? Why not ask them directly instead of guessing? What is so difficult about filling in a simple planning form, it costs nothing. Lazy. Pure laziness.

They seem to either not understand or choose to ignore the fact that the council will only protect a tree by applying a TPO on it, or not. The council have already allowed works on trees in the area, including cutting trees down. They will not decide to put a TPO on the trees in question.

Despite myself and neighbours now complaining about this, no action has been taken over many years.

Lazy and ineffective factors. Advice to any committee or residents looking for a factor to avoid this company at all costs. Save your money and find a competent factor.

Pleasantly Surprised, very reliable.

We are currently going through an extensive renovation at our house and have been using Victoria Plum to supply quite a few different elements at different times. Delivery has always been on time, and while there have been instances where items had arrived damaged, Victoria Plum were very quick to respond and replace when contacting them through web chat. Just sent a few photos over and a replacement was sorted. Thanks a lot, very impressed.
