Too many noses in the trough from staff to their mates companies doing repairs at Inflated prices.

Ryanair of Car sales.

Bought vehicle online, staff member who done handover did not introduce herself ,pointed out flaws and blemishes to which she said she'd tell manager.
Hybrid car with zero charge , wipers worn and needed replaced. Paintwork blemishes very poorly repaired despite giving them five days to sort.
Motorpoint are the Ryanair of car sales, after sales service non existent.
I paid £699 for two years additional warranty,still waiting on any paperwork/ confirmation despite asking upon collection and emailing three weeks ago.

Not recommended

Do NOT take out a service plan for the following genuine reasons;
1) monthly payments are plus VAT.
2) servicing and MOT are plus VAT.
3)Dealer can't give copy invoices as they are charged from Head office.
4) Head office say they can't give you copy invoices as the are issued by dealer.
5) customer service depolrable,staff are rude and not interested.

Very amateur

I have spent a lot of money with John Lewis, unfortunately for me ,I bought an expensive Samsung TV with various " offers" included.
The so called E- gift has to be claimed directly from Samsung ( not mentioned when purchasing) ,Samsung's system is impossible to navigate and IF , ( BIG IF ) I eventually satisfy them after providing receipts, serial numbers , photographs it's another 45 days to receive! All in all,if successful it'll be over three months to get my e-gift. The so called £260 of credits called App credits are a nonsense as you gave to subscribe for three months free then pay .
John Lewis were a reputable company but I will shop elsewhere in future ,ao com for example! 😡

Inflexible

I tried to change my policy start date by 24 hours, was told this wasn't possible and had to cancel policy and pay £50 for the service.
Cannot recommend this company purely sue to poor customer service and Inflexible attitude.

Following the response from 1st Central below, I WAS charged £50 for cancellation / administration/ or whatever they want to call it. Ridiculous!

Cautionery…

This is a cautionary review for anyone thinking about buying online as I did.
The first part was easy ,visiting find a car in Macklin motors website and enter trade in details. Accept the deal and pay the difference. Easy so far .
Then it gets complicated, various confusing emails from Macklin, Vertu, and Bristol Street cars had me questioning who I was dealing with.
I had paid for home delivery ,then told I could collect from a garage 12 miles from my home or drive to Teeside to collect !
The communication is very poor, emails erratic and u able to contact by phone as the number provided doesn't accept incoming calls.
It is a very stressful way to buy a car that should and could be a lot simpler.
In short, whilst I've committed to my purchase ( and paid ) I would not recommend buying online from Macklin,Vertu or Bristol Street unless you are as patient as St Patience or as laid back as a dodgy deck chair .
My car is due to be collected in a couple of days , I'm not confident it will go well. Surely I shouldn't be feeling like this pre collection?

After refusing an incorrect delivery ( pre paid) the takeaway refused a refund,citing just eat .
I contacted Just Cheat to be told that as I hadnt taken any photographs no refund would be forthcoming!!

Avoid.

I would NOT recommend this company.
I arrived back in the UK early on 15/12/21.Fully expecting my PCR kit to be awaiting me. It wasn't , I then received emails saying it would be delivered on 16/12/21.It wasn't.
At time of writing I'm expecting delivery 17/12/21 ( hoping) which means if I'm able to receive kit and post it prior to 5pm on a Friday I will have to continue my isolation until I get my result. I'm not confident I'll have my result by Monday or Tuesday ,meaning a full week in isolation due to incompetance by this company.
I have tried online chat ,no-one available ,and calling but phone rings out when selecting PCR (1) option.
Would never use this company or recommend them to anyone for reasons as detailed.

Disgrace

A disgrace of CV a company ,shocking customer service. Unfortunately have a monopoly in S itland thanks to our wonderful Scottish Government. I paid for a day 2 test and still awaiting result after a week . I done a free NHS PCR test and got the result within 48 hours.
Why are we paying a private company to a use the service ?

Not Good Enough

I only gave one star as a lower score isn't possible.
Absolutely deplorable service.
I attempted to buy a car, after agreeing deal with sales department it plummeted very quickly from thereon.
Zero communication, no department from sales, reception,handover or service would update me.
Ten days of tested patience and un returned calls I gave up and asked for my deposit back
I would point out this was Peter Vardy Cars in Dundee.
It was only an £18500 car and was a cash sale so perhaps finance in retests them more due to commissions .
