I am generally very pleased with the quality of the curtains. I had 3 curtains delivered, two were fine, but one was 142cm long instead of 144cm in one corner.
Just received a call confirming my curtains are to be replaced. Replacements have since arrived in good order.

Dreadful customer service

Dreadful customer service. Now a diamond member and just had my subscription increased by +38%! When I tried to speak to them promised call backs did not take place. Went online chat and waited nearly an hour for a response. So +38%, I have lost channels like Eurosport, Roland Garros and much more. Dreadful value now, so I am returning to basics and a rolling subscription until I have sorted another provider like Community fibre? Subscribing to Sky is like dealing with a Del Boy without the smiles!!!

Now a Chat show

Basically insignificant individuals asked insignificant questions of no interest at all. I now record channel 4 news a) to skip all the inane ads b) to skip the chat show, not news just a number of people sharing their opinions, this cuts the show down to the news segment or about 10 mins. C) I can also skip a rude news reader who obviously feel he is the most important part!!! So, just another opportunity for Channel 4 to save money!

Four plants delivered, two damaged

I ordered 6 plants, four arrived of which two were worthless. One, a camelia had its top branches dry and shrivelled and must have been like this when packed, (not watered and left to dry out before packing). The other, a Lilac was not a plant at all, just a root!.
So I sent a photo of the damaged plants and their enclosed receipt. This was followed by a barrage of questions about packaging, labels on each container and on an on, just making any complaint a problem for the customer. Obviously no intention to replace, just pocket the cash and the customer can go to hell!

I like Nationwide, but

I like Nationwide, the way they retain branches, but when you are in trouble and need help when you have made a very serious transfer error, it can take two weeks to speak to a manager and when you write urgently for help all you get is an acknowledgement. So stressful without support.

Resolving faulty strimmer complaint

A faulty strimmer delivered, no phone number available to call, so filled out form same day as delivery, explaining the problem. The next day was asked to send a picture, given a ticket number then nothing, no call, email, zilch. So when you report a faulty product don't expect immediate support from Customer services! Eventually found a number to call them on 0191 654 0031, spoke to a Sarah who apologised and immediately arranged a refund, so customer service is good - once you reach them.

Needn't have worried

Worried about outcome, because it appears customer services are slow to respond, hanging on the phone for 20 mins for a response! My first order for curtains was fine, the next order arrived with a pucked joinong seam down the middle of each curtain. I sent a photograph and now wait for a response. Appears quality control missed this one. Will keep.you updated. Phoned this morning, told the curtains will be replaced. Two weeks have passed and the replacement curtains have been delivered and very pleased with the result. Customer services might be difficult to reach sometimes, but once you do they sort things out, so will be buying from 247 again.

I placed a booking, poperty is not available

I placed a booking last month for Xmas, they took my money and I now find out the caravan site is closed. Having to run rings round Booking.com trying to get a refund. They refer to the agent, agent refers me to booking.com. Ask to cancel my booking by selecting '1' on the option, cancellation not possible. Eventually a refund was received after a call from someone I couldnt undertand?

The price is still high

Quality has plummeted, but the price is still high. Bought a quilted jacket. The lining in the sleeve was badly puckered and the corduroy collar had to be adjusted and sewn on again. Had to take it to a repairers to have the sleeves adjusted and they spotted the errors. The suppliers returns policy would add long delays.
Checking on the label, where was this jacket made? Vietnam. So Barbour say let's cut the quality and go cheap with big margins. So this is my last purchase of a Barbour anything now. How sad!

This is all so frustrating. Increased my premium from £205 to £288, spent 10 mins answering all their on-line questions, then to be told they cannot access their systems, so to call back. Note, it is I that has to call back, no offer to call me!!. Comparison sites offer me £250 or less

Review of Pimlico Plumbers

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

We had a burst pipe in the garage

We had a burst pipe in the garage. Pimlico Plumbers are polite and answered the phone prompty, which was a better start comparing the other calls I made, most plumbers appeared to be on holiday!

The first call out for £198 was for 'Plumber A' to attend last Friday to come during the evening to fix a hole in a pipe at ground level. He spent a hour try to fix it by hitting it with a hammer and in the end had to attempt to resolve the issue by bending the copper pipe over and hitting the pipe a numerous of times to try and stop the leak, on leaving Plumber A said he would come back the following morning to finish the job. The work undertaken had proved unsuccessful and the water had to remain turned off at the mains. So I paid £198 for a job that was not completed as requested (to stop the leak).

Plumber A returned to undertake the full repair to the pipe and joints the next day, this cost a further £270. On checking the work after lunch found the copper pipe to be wet and to be leaking. I contacted Pimlico Plumbers and Plumber A and he agreed to return on Sunday morning when he was in the area so again the water was turned off overnight, to prevent the leak causing further damage. So invoice paid and repair still unresolved.

Plumber A returned on Sunday and made some adjustments, but these again appeared to fail and the leak continued.

Pimlico Plumbers then arranged for Plumber B to attend to repair the leak in the garage and to identify why their was no water in the house upstairs. In the garage it was found both the copper pipe to the tap that Plumber A had refitted was leaking due to damage on top of the copper pipe. The Lead-loc Plumber A had fitted at ground level had also failed because it had been either damaged/altered in such a way that it leaked too. So far I had paid £468 and still my pipe was leaking with our water having to be turned off.

My wife, is severely handicapped and our son was staying with us, so over the three days had to use water for cooking and washing, this drained the tank in the loft. Which resulted in the ball valve bending down well beyond normal perimeters and to fail.(Yes I understand the argument that it was a faulty ball valve, but it was not faulty until the tank had to be emptied. If the job had been done correctly over the first 2 visits, tank would have remained full), So Plumber B now had to replace the ball valve too, this amounted to £313.48. So it total a charge of £781.48 for a leaking pipe!

It is my premise that because our water had to be turned off for so long which consequently emptied our cold water tank, the ball cock failed. It was working perfectly well until the water was turned off and the tank emptied. If the repair to stop the leak on Friday had taken place I would have been invoiced for a call out £198 + addition 30 mins night rate of £99 making £297 (Plumber B repair the next day took 1hr 30 mins). It appears Plumber B was not correctly equipped to do the repair when he first came out on Friday. So I feel have had to accept unnecessary total charges for the repair of £484.48.
I have approached Pimlico plumbers on this asking them to reveiw the costs I have incurred, but their response although polite was a negative one.
'As a result of my investigations, I can confirm that it has been deemed reasonable and warranted that our engineers attended, investigated, diagnosed, carried out works necessary to your property at the time and made recommendations'.
I feel very strongly believe that they have not made best endevours to cover me against unecessary additional costs caused by members of their team being unable to undertake a repair 1) effectively 2) To the standard required and 3) In a timely manner, both of which led to my increased expenditure.

Reply from Pimlico Plumbers

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We are disheartened to hear that you are unhappy with your recent experience. We would like to address the points you raised and provide some clarification.

When our plumber arrived on Friday evening, the water had already been turned off. After carefully assessing the situation, he determined what was required to fix the issue. Unfortunately, due to the late hour, no merchants were open to source the necessary parts. Despite this, our plumber attempted to slow the leak and minimise the water damage as much as possible. Based on the situation, it was suggested by yourself that the water be shut off overnight.

The plumber returned the next day with the correct materials and completed the necessary repairs to the pipe and joints. However, due to the lead pipe being embedded in concrete, access was extremely limited, which complicated the repair process. When our plumber left, there were no visible leaks, but we understand that a new leak appeared later, which led him to return on Sunday, August 11th. He spent another hour at no additional cost to you, working to resolve the issue.

Regarding the ball valve in the loft, we understand your concerns, but it is important to note that the failure of the ball valve was a knock-on effect of the water being shut off, this is not something our plumber is responsible for.

We recognise the challenges you faced, especially with your wife’s condition, and sympathise with any inconvenience caused. We understand that you feel the costs were higher than anticipated, and we have reviewed your case thoroughly. Our engineers made every effort to resolve the issues effectively with the constraints they faced, and we believe the charges reflect the necessary work carried out over the three visits. We are not responsible for the existing leak at your property and the fact that the water needed to be tuned off to prevent further water damage.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future.

Best regards,
Pimlico Customer Services

Hastings Direct not there when I needed help!

I have just had a pipe burts in the garage, flooded everything. I turned off at the mains and phoned Hastings Direct under the paid for 'Emergency Cover'. I am told burst pipes are not covered under their 'emergency cover' and refused to honour their committment to me to cover me for burst pipes. However their cover states
'Sudden damage to, or failure of, your plumbing and drainage system, including blocked drains, leaking pipes, blocked water tanks, and toilet waste pipes blockages'. So I am having to pay £hundreds of ££££ to Pimbleco Plumbers. My wife is severely handicapped and I hope a 'regular' insurance company would support me? So dont bother taking out emergency cover with Hastings Direct, waste of money.
Plumber has just come round and confirms he has completed many jobs like mine under 'Home Emergency'
Just had a final call from the company who manage Home Emergency for Hastings Direct. A mistake has been made, I AM COVERED and will receive a refund of the callout fees are suffered. So all was OK, but as you can see, Social media do not know about it?

Broaden the marketing of your car

I have used Motorway before, so used them again. This time they calculated my reserve price wrong and I received a much better price from my ad in Auto Trader, so it might be worth the gamble to choose both routes. Take lots and lots of pictures for Auto Trader too, it helps.

This is a dreadful company

This is a dreadful company. They have doubled the cost of my Broadband, no warning this was happening. I have phoned twice, but the people on the other end of the line do not speak english and do not understand me either. They say something like my agreement has coming to an end, so doubling my subscription and taking the free landline calls away too!! If you want to deal with a regulated company, then this does not appear to be one of them!!
