Completely Useless New Technology

I was lured by the pricing into buying a 3 year deal for this piece of completely useless shot. As you see from the attached screen grab I am a 'premium member' (unlimited, global access) to absoutely Fu£k All. I try occasionally to see if it works and it has on at least one occasion in the past year worked for a whole 24 hour period.

Technical incompetences on the site - beyond it not offering the service for I have been defrauded) mean you can be asked to login endlessly (I have given up at six new logins in 15 min) even with the option to not need to register on this machine (which also doesn't work). Please save yourself the irritation and have nothing to do with it.

Reliable local car hire company in…

Reliable local car hire company in Malta with well maintained fleet of suitably small cars, and excellent rates. Have rented cars from them when visiting since before Lockdown. Airport or local pick up and drop off. Kudos to their driver/valet (Domingo) who kindly found a mislaid wallet and called us to return it. Most enjoyable experience. Thanks

Completely Useless New Technology

Completely Useless New Technology : great materials but an enragingly stupid platform. Two weeks into a 3 week course for which I recently paid to have certificated: I have alternating messages from the platform that (i) I am still not complete with week one; (ii) congratulations on finishing week 1; (iii) thanks for upgrading; (iv) you have only 26 days left to upgrade; (v) congrats on completing week 2; (vi) please go to week 2; (vii) you need to register for the course. This is a pity for Dublin City University which has populated the site with apparently sound teaching. I shall have to complain to MasterCard to judge from the stream of complaints here as if you complain they send a note thanking you for the complaint but saying that they are too busy to deal with complaints.

Review of Randox Health

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Reliably abusive and disappointing

Leaving France during an amber phase with England, I took a recommendation from BA to buy Randox
Day 2 & Day 8 tests (the cheapest available) for two people. This was still more than I had paid for the flights, but I received promptly a confirmation code without which I would not have been able to complete the Passenger Locator formalities. The four kits were waiting when we arrived home.

From the Day 2 tests, one of the results came back within 12 hours; the other took over five days during which Randox would not reply to queries except with 'do-not-reply' emails, and and inaptly-named customer service phone line which only plays on-hold music between announcements about how important you are to them. When I finally found someone on FB messenger, the interaction was based first on dening the problem had occurred, and then on false claims that a report had been issued, before finally issuing a test result five days late and without any apology.

From the Day 8 tests (I am by now accustomed to shoddy, disputatious and unreliable service) one test came back within the 24 hours offered in the service. For the second, the test pack kit was defective. When opened it had only a minute dose of reagent fluid in the sample tube, and this test came back not with "defective, so sorry, please let us send you another", but "unclear" so buy another one! I am not wasting any time attempting further to communicate with Randox.

The whole NHS Trick or Treat process is an implausible and punitive farce, so quite naturally people will react to it as cheaply as possible. I did that myself and so I can confirm that Randox is as cheap as it gets, and I got what I paid for.

Government organised rip off

Everything you could expect from a Hancock-up scheme, I suppose. Randox (additionally recommended by British Airways,) supplied us with day 2 and day 8 test kits. No issue with delivery - they were waiting when we arrived back from France. No issue with clear instructions, and no issue with collection and receipt. We both took the Day 2 test late on day 1: both had email receipts early in the morning of day 2. But then for one test a negative result came back with a certificate in 12 hours; the second day 2 test N O T H I N G! And it is already day 5
Well unless you count redirection from a 'do not reply' email to an FAQ page which curiously does not feature the issue of "when you get nothing from us".

So a futile waste of money on the crooked and dysfunctional English "track and trace" project.

Review of W Stevenson of Newlyn

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hugely recommended

I had eaten from their shop in Newlyn when staying nearby, and so after disappointing fish from other suppliers (in Colchester), I thought I would try mail order. Crab, lobster, scallops and sardines ordered for a weekend far inland. Brilliant on reliability and quality. Also super-friendly on the phone if/when you need to check things. Other than being in Newlyn and shopping direct, it seems the next best thing.

Five star handling

Five star handling of a one star technical issue (so, 4 stars here). I booked a return ticket to London to give to a friend, and after payment on the lner.co.uk website the tickets came out the wrong way round (return from London). No amendment possible, could only cancel (within 2 hours of booking) and then rebook with potential £10 handling fee. After messaging these details on Facebook messenger (from link on LNER website) an operator facilitated the refund and waived any charge. Given the miseries inflicted on consumers by other web-based businesses and applications (Cashplus for example), this was a welcome, efficient and polite surprise. Thanks LNER

Insecure and unreliable - suitable qualities for a UK bank?

I have used this service for some years: banks are only as good as their worst moment of customer service. Today I find myself unable to pay my bills because someone has charged an article from Apple to my account which - if Cashplus had proper security as it claims - should never have been approved. Despite a much vaunted "3D secure system for verifying all purchases", it was possible for someone to block £1400 of my money without a security code and even giving the wrong postal address for the account. Cashplus, while not having released the payment to Apple, have blocked my funds from my own disposal. So I have had to borrow money to pay bills, while my funds are held without my agreement due to the flawed security operated by MasterCard/Cashplus. Completely unacceptable - except in 2021 UK.

Less adverts and no free trial

Let's say 'less advertising' and '14 days free' lasts less than a minute. I paid to 'trial' All4+ on 10 April: I received an acknowledgement of my 14 days free, and in the same minute I had a mail saying that my 'trial' had ended and my account was charged. So the free trial is pure theft.

Then as to 'free of adverts', well this is largely true; but you still get (to use Fargo as an example) more than a minute of truly ghastly trailers for 4's worst shows, along with sponsor reminders.

So theft and misrepresentation. But quite cheap after all.

You have been warned ...

Slow service, and then the wrong size arrives. My sales invoice/receipt makes it clear that I ordered a size 10, but they sent instead a size 8, accompanied by a spurious ‘size guide’ that makes size 10 Uk equal to 42!!! After a polite but laborious returns process started with fake sizing, and then reading similar experiences here, I have given the item to a nephew instead of going through with the impossibility of returning by post to EU. Complete waste of time experienced as theft.
