Reliably abusive and disappointing
Leaving France during an amber phase with England, I took a recommendation from BA to buy Randox
Day 2 & Day 8 tests (the cheapest available) for two people. This was still more than I had paid for the flights, but I received promptly a confirmation code without which I would not have been able to complete the Passenger Locator formalities. The four kits were waiting when we arrived home.
From the Day 2 tests, one of the results came back within 12 hours; the other took over five days during which Randox would not reply to queries except with 'do-not-reply' emails, and and inaptly-named customer service phone line which only plays on-hold music between announcements about how important you are to them. When I finally found someone on FB messenger, the interaction was based first on dening the problem had occurred, and then on false claims that a report had been issued, before finally issuing a test result five days late and without any apology.
From the Day 8 tests (I am by now accustomed to shoddy, disputatious and unreliable service) one test came back within the 24 hours offered in the service. For the second, the test pack kit was defective. When opened it had only a minute dose of reagent fluid in the sample tube, and this test came back not with "defective, so sorry, please let us send you another", but "unclear" so buy another one! I am not wasting any time attempting further to communicate with Randox.
The whole NHS Trick or Treat process is an implausible and punitive farce, so quite naturally people will react to it as cheaply as possible. I did that myself and so I can confirm that Randox is as cheap as it gets, and I got what I paid for.
