Good customer service

Thanks you to your colleagues for being there during lockdown. Had a laptop issue and ordered something that might fix it. But it was the wrong thing! Your colleagues were super helpful and tried to find a solution. In the end, there wasn't a suitable product, so they gave me a refund. The system for collection, notification of arrival etc. works great, no issues at all.

Clever idea

I needed some photos for a non-UK document in a specific format not available in standard photobooths. As all photographers are currently closed, I didn't know where to turn. Luckily I came across this service! I uploaded an ordinary photo and it was instantly converted into the required non-UK format (including the correct background). It was also checked by a real human being. I wanted it adjusted slightly and the team responded immediately with exactly what I asked for. The same day, I sent the digital photo to my local supermarket (which is the only thing currently open in my area) and it got printed within an hour. Very grateful I could get this all done quickly and conveniently during lockdown!!

Seems like a good website with quite a…

Seems like a good website with quite a range of appliances, including ones you don’t often see elsewhere. For unknown reasons my order arrived the day after the delivery date stated in the confirmation e-mail. The appliance seems pretty good, though perhaps ever so slightly overpriced given its unexceptional performance. In any case, I’m quite pleased with it.

Item not received

Item not received. Zero communication or updates from the courier about when it would be. No calling card left. Only found out days later from the seller's website that it had been "delivered" after one "delivery attempt". Well, no item is with me. No courier has visited the address in the last week. Goodness knows where the item was supposedly delivered to.

UPDATE: Thank you for responding. I've taken it up with the sender (an online vendor), as it is ultimately their responsibility to ensure safe receipt of goods to the customer. Presumably, they have contacted you already.

Items were fragile (ceramic) and all arrived in perfect condition within the given time slot. The driver even brought the boxes in for me as they were quite big. Seems like DPD are one of the few reliable delivery companies in my area. Thanks!

This is history

WOW!!! On this day - 28th February 2020 - I did receive a parcel delivered by Hermes as scheduled. The driver said something like "lucky you were in today". In my opinion, that's quite cheeky given the previous phantom delivery "attempts" by Hermes where they claim that I was not in despite actually being in, no doorbell ring, no calling card etc.

Fast delivery and item arrived as scheduled. It needed a signature but the driver left before I could do it, yet the tracking info says I did sign for it. Anyway, I'm glad I got my delivery on time as promised. Thanks.

Thanks for delivering as scheduled. The driver was very polite and friendly. I don't seem to encounter any funny business with UPS and they seem very reliable - this is very unlike other commonly used companies (specifically Hermes and Yodel).

Just dreadful

I wish there was a minus star option to rate this shady company. Retailers should let you know before purchasing which delivery company will be used. Why am I disappointed with Hermes? Time and again over the last decade, they schedule a delivery day and they simply never come on that day. No calling card. No dingdong from the doorbell. No knock at the door. No van outside. Nothing. Their customer service line is a joke. No human being to talk to and it just hangs up after a while. My recommendation: avoid this shambolic organisation (as well as Yodel and DPD) and request retailers use a more reliable company like Royal Mail/Parcel Force, UPS or DHL. Finally, the previous Hermes delivery I was supposed to get never arrived and apparently was left in a “safe place” which I, er, didn’t request. Retailer sent it again by Royal Mail.

UPDATE: The next day, whilst anxiously waiting, I caught sight of a real live person with a parcel hop out of an unmarked van and proceed to knock on the door of a property about six doors down from me. Neurotically, I ran over and asked if the parcel was supposed to be for my address ... and it was! Now I'm wondering whether Hermes's penchant for mysterious non-delivery is because their drivers frequently go to the wrong address??

Thank you for delivering

Thank you for delivering. It came a few mins before the allotted time. Also, the driver was helpful and actually brought the parcels to the door. I have extremely low expectations of delivery companies after many years of bad experiences with the likes of Yodel and Hermes, who are quite fond of “phantom deliveries“ - you know, they claim to have attempted delivery, but didn’t ring the doorbell, didn’t knock, no sign of a van and don’t ever leave a calling card.

Placing an order is a risk

I placed an order and it was apparently delivered. My order is certainly not with me (the recipient) and it remains a mystery where my order is. I phoned to query this, but the customer services line is unable to look into such matters in the evenings (this is not stated on the company's website). I will obviously try getting in touch with customer services another time and I will update this review depending on how the situation unfolds.

Managed to get through to someone at customer services. Said they will investigate and I'll get a response within 48 hours.

As no response was received from WoolOvers Ltd as promised, I contacted them again. Surprise, surprise! There are no records of my previous communications and any investigation! Apparently, the investigation will start now ... Not going well so far.

Update 17/10/19 (2)
After the unsatisfactory (lack of) response, I sent a letter of complaint. Within 10 minutes I got a response and the items would be sent the following day. WOW!!

Update 19/10/19 and conclusion
Items finally received! I'm glad the company responded, but it was only after resorting to a letter of complaint (borrowed from which.co.uk) mentioning the Consumer Rights Act and the Consumer Contracts Regulations! All in all, I don't recommend this company and will never order from them again.

A furniture store stuck in the dark ages

I found two items which had the exact measurements for the spaces in my property (a mirror and a splashback). Their delivery charges and times are an absolute joke in this day and age! So... I did the epic trek to a store, which are all located in extremely inconvenient miles-away out-of-town places and finding them is like going on a quest to Mordor. I visited on a Sunday and it was like passing through the gates of hell. Huge queues to get into the car park and then it was so crowded inside the shop that they should probably consider having some form of crowd control. After traipsing around for two hours for the two items I wanted, they were nowhere to be seen and I had to queue up for hours to order them for collection. Then I had to wait half an hour at a collection point. Well I got my two very specific items, but had I’d known what a dreadful experience a visit to their store would be, I’d be honestly quite happy without them. I’m never visiting an Ikea again. If only they were a 21st century company which offer quick and free or low cost delivery, then I would be a repeat customer!!
