Worst Courier Service – DPD Morley Depot

DPD Leeds (Morley Depot) are an absolute disgrace. This isn’t a one-off — it’s a pattern. Deliveries are routinely marked as “attempted” when no one has even tried, especially if it’s in the afternoon. Instead of doing the job, they just kick it onto the next day.

Today the driver actually called me for directions. I told him everything he needed — which is already saved on the DPD app anyway, complete with a photo of my house and the What3Words location. Despite that, he still couldn’t be bothered and marked it as a failed delivery. That’s not an accident, that’s pure laziness.

It’s clear this isn’t just about one driver, it’s how the Morley Depot operates. Cutting corners, ignoring customer instructions, and wasting people’s time. Absolutely shocking service and they clearly don’t care about their customers.

£525 Paid Exactly as Quoted – Excellent Service”

After a very poor experience with Mazuma (Order M9188594), where my iPhone 15 Pro was unfairly undervalued, I sent the exact same phone to sellphones.co.uk.

Their service was outstanding from start to finish:
I was quoted £525 and paid the full amount with no quibble.
The process was fast, straightforward, and transparent.
Communication was clear and professional.

This company demonstrates exactly how a phone trade-in service should operate — fair, honest, and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and will be recommending them to friends and family.

£250 price drop – loyal customer refused help, ignored emails, and poor transparency

I’ve been a loyal Sage customer for years, owning multiple products. On 16 July 2025, I bought a Sage Oracle Touch directly from Sage’s website. Two weeks later, the price dropped by £250.

I contacted Sage asking for a partial refund or goodwill credit, as I was well within the 30-day return period. My initial email was ignored. I eventually worked out that I had to post my request on their internal system — which was difficult to even find — but that was also ignored.

My last resort was an AI chatbot, which finally generated a response from “Charlotte” — a generic, scripted message full of stock phrases about valuing my loyalty, but ignoring the facts I’d given. Sage claimed they had already emailed me to decline my request, but I never received such an email, and to this day they have still never put their refusal in writing.

Their only “solution” was to make me return the machine and re-order, even though I could have purchased another immediately without waiting for a refund. This is unnecessarily wasteful and shows zero flexibility or transparency.

The Oracle Touch is an excellent machine — but Sage’s after-sales service has been inflexible, impersonal, and evasive. I will not be buying direct from them again.

08.08.25 update
After continued contact and escalation, Sage has agreed to issue me a partial refund of £212.45 to reflect the current sale price minus the discount I originally received.
I appreciate that they have resolved this, but it took multiple attempts, ignored messages, and chasing through different channels before action was taken. I have updated my rating from 1 to 2 stars as a result.

Mazuma Undervalued My iPhone – Paid Full Price Elsewhere”

Order: M9188594

Mazuma quoted me £530 for my iPhone 15 Pro. I sent the device in pristine condition, with timestamped photos as proof.

Mazuma then downgraded the offer to £450, later raising it slightly to £480, claiming there were “scratches visible under LED light.” My evidence showed otherwise, and the packaging was undamaged.

I rejected their offer. Mazuma then:

Returned my phone in flimsy, inadequate packaging

Disposed of my genuine Apple retail box without consent, despite it being my property and important for resale value

To test whether their grading was fair, I sent the same device to Sellphones.co.uk, who instantly paid £525 with no quibble.

Mazuma’s behaviour shows either dishonesty or incompetence. They appear to deliberately undervalue high-quality devices and rely on consumers accepting the lower payout.

If you’re trading in a high-value phone, avoid Mazuma. There are far better alternatives who pay what they promise.

Hi ,
We can only asses the devices in the condition we receive them in. Could you please provide an order number and I will look into this for you? Thanks, Mazuma.

Ben Kimberley @ Howdens

Ben Kimberley - Lead Kitchen Sales Designer is a credit to Howdens.

From designing our kitchen to completion Ben went above and beyond.
He has an excellent eye for detail and made the project easy. When I raised queries he was responsive and when issues arose (as they do) he liaised with colleagues and resolved them within hours.
Our kitchen looks great and we are very grateful Ben.

Stay well clear of Preston Baker in North Leeds

My first review which named the agent was removed as the agent complained to Trustpilot. She didn't want her full name to be included or take accountability for her appalling service.

Throughout the selling and legal processes rather than being an advocate, she delivered frustratingly and consistently poor service and sales progression.

At the start she did little to market our buyers property and showed a disturbing lack of engagement, which continued throughout the whole process. We then establish the bottom of the chain is not a first time buyer,as advised, and actually there is a fourth party in the chain and complications around this.

She consistently failed to facilitate communication with solicitors, buyers and sellers, which resulted in several failed exchange of contract dates a three failed move dates. All this occurred prior to Christmas.

Hopefully this review will help her appreciate the impact of her inaction, which led to needless distress and sleepless nights for a number of people in the chain.

I did raise two complaints in an attempt to resolve these issues and elicit a change in approach from the agent without success.

This particular agent caused us many sleepless nights.

Since posting this updated review PB have made attempts to have my review removed from Trustpilot.

Thank you for leaving both reviews with us and recently speaking with our CEO. We're sorry that you've had two very different experiences with us, one 5*, and the other, 1*. We pride ourselves on ensuring customers received the same 5* treatment whether using an agent up in Harrogate, or one down in Doncaster. It is clear from your conversation with Tom that this did not happen. All your comments have been taken onboard and we'll make sure we learn from them moving forward. Congratulations on the recent sale and completion of your home and we wish you luck in your next chapter.

A supportive sales and after sales team

After doing lots of research and spending lots of time at Citu Leeds we reserved our new home in June 2024.

Nina, Sharan and Andy have been really helpful and went above and beyond to respond to queries we raised. They were so supportive and patient when our chain proved challenging.

We love our new house, with its friendly and diverse community. All within walking distance of the shops, theatre and restaurants of Leeds city centre.

So glad we made the move and grateful for the support of the Citu team.

Stay well clear if you value your mental health

Given my experience with Hallam solicitors via our chain, I am astounded they have a 4.9 rating.
Hallams solicitors are despicable. They ignore emails don't answer the phone and have led to two move dates being postponed. Suhail is never available and has more holidays than Judith Chambers! It's unfortunate a buyer in our chain has had the misfortune to employ Hallams.
If you value your sanity stay well clear of this abomination of a company!
They don't give a jot about the lives they turn upside down though their inaction and incompetence!

Premium price for cheap rubbish!

Bought two spiral outdoor trees and after 15 months one has completely collapsed as the metal has completely rusted.
We paid in excess of £250 for two trees and am astounded that after such a short period one has collapsed and Blooming Artificial will not consider a repair or replacement.
Don’t waste your money you’ll pay a premium price for cheap tat!

Order was not delivered. Primrose said it was delivered! Unfortunately for them our house is covered by cctv. So I review footage and as I thought it was not delivered!
They have ignored several emails, thankfully a refund is being sought from my bank.

Rogue traders!
