Absolutely appalling customer service - avoid!

I ordered a premium beauty product from Debenhams' website, and it arrived damaged. I immediately contacted their customer service with clear photos, and they acknowledged the issue, offering a refund or replacement. I requested a refund.
That was three weeks ago. Despite multiple follow-ups, including a final letter stating I would pursue the matter through Small Claims Court if unresolved, I have received no response and no refund.
This level of negligence and disregard for customers is unacceptable. Think twice before ordering from them.

Beware of Carly's Unfair Auto-Renewal Policy

I would strongly caution anyone considering Carly's services to think twice. My experience has been deeply frustrating, particularly with their auto-renewal policy, which feels deliberately opaque and unfair.

Carly automatically renews annual subscriptions unless cancelled **at least one month** before the renewal date. This crucial information is buried deep in their terms and conditions rather than being clearly communicated upfront or before the renewal. Despite contacting them immediately on the renewal date to request a cancellation and refund, my request was denied, with claims that no refunds are issued once the payment is processed—even though I acted in good faith to resolve the matter promptly.

Transparency is critical for subscription-based services, especially for annual charges, yet Carly failed to provide a clear reminder or warning closer to the renewal date. This lack of communication feels like an intentional oversight to trap customers into unwanted renewals.

I strongly urge potential customers to read every fine detail before committing to Carly's services. Better yet, avoid the hassle altogether and choose a company that values transparency, fairness, and customer satisfaction.

SCAM and what I did to get the money back

My wife got scammed by Carethy, and it looks like she was one of many. She placed the order on the 10th of November 22 and received nothing to date (22 Dec 2022). Multiple emails were sent with no luck. They bluntly wrote that shipping was beyond the scope of their responsibility as a supplier! They refused the refund. The good news was that I paid for my wife’s order with my credit card. I claimed the full amount with Amex and got all the money back the next day. I wish I had checked reviews before paying. It is outrageous that Carethy is still trading and scamming customers. I guess that since they are based outside the UK, they just get away with it. That’s right – don’t get fooled by the .co.uk address of their website. This is not a UK company. I hope this will help someone avoiding the hassle and loss of money.

My bathroom LED light fitting failed after six months of use. I called customer service and reported the fault. My new, free of charge replacement fitting was delivered two days later. The professionalism of the customer service team was second to none. Thank you

Excellent customer service

I am really pleased with the claim service I received. I failed to go on my skiing trip due to back injury. I claimed the cost of flights, accommodation and ski pass. I received full compensation. It took three weeks to finalise the payout. I have to admit that it was not possible to submit the claim over the phone. Due to the pandemic, it was not surprising, though. It was great to see an online claim service that came to life to overcome this issue. Well done guys! All communication was managed via emails. I submitted copies of all my receipts, original booking confirmations and letter from my GP to confirm the injury. Thank you!

Great holiday!

We have just came back from La Plagne, 1 week ski holiday from Snowtrex. Absolutely fantastic trip from start to finish. Our package included 2-person studio apartment, ski pass and ski rental. Whole booking process was smooth and easy. Two weeks before the departure we have received all vouchers (accommodation, ski pass, ski rental) incl. instructions on how to redeem them upon arrival. Some people complain about miscommunication - my advice is just to read all the info on the website as everything is there. Special thank you to UK customer service team for helping with payment processing. HSBC blocked part of the payment due to security reasons. It was explained that this happens sometimes as Snowtrex is German registered company. Nevertheless all was sorted out in the end. Very happy overall!
