Ease of ordering

Ease of ordering, bought a lovely sweatshirt. Arrived in plenty of time for Father’s Day.

I feel such a fool …

How I wish I’d come here first before I purchased what looked like a gorgeous dress. It’s called the Cristina Maxi Dress – I purchased 1 in grey, 1 in beige.
Shipping time was ok but as soon as I took delivery, based on the weight of the package, my heart sank. There was no way the package contained 2 dresses. Oh but it did! And how horrendous they were. I wish I could post photos on here. Absolutely disgusting brushed nylon v’s the heavy wool dresses they advertise. I feel such a fool. Trying ever so hard to return, they keep ignoring my pleas with offers.
1st response came 3 days later asking me why I was returning
I emailed again asking to return the dresses and request for a refund.
2nd response came 2 days later telling me instead of returning and incurring return costs they would prefer to offer me 15% refund.
I refused and asked again to return the dresses and request a refund.
3rd response came 3 days later offering me a 30% refund and a gift card worth “60%” for future purchases.
I refused and advised I was asking for the 4th time for my money back.
They responded 1 day later advising me that it was not beneficial to the environment or sustainability to return my goods and returns would be costly and best avoided.
I feel this is very unprofessional and at the worst quite threatening.
I’m at a loss on how to proceed and feeling very down about the whole situation.

Make refunds as difficult as they canSeriously

Seriously, if you order clothes with Debenams, make sure they fit. Refunds are a nightmare.
Monsoon dress was too small. Returned and had to pay for the postage. 1 month later no refund. Tracking showed had been received over 25 days earlier. Debenams said couldn’t find the returns. Sent proof of postage. 5 emails later they agreed to refund me. Will stick with Next from now on.

Fabulous Company with Amazing Staff

Huge thanks to Georgie for sorting out a few minor issues.
In this day & age it’s rare to be able to speak to an actual person when purchasing on line.

We ordered the chilford ottoman in super king size along with 2 side cabinets.

We are so happy with them, they look amazing and the space in the ottoman exceeds even my expectations.

I would 100% purchase again from The Oak Bed Store.

Thanks Georgie for everything you did to sort out collection & replacement of 1 of the side cabinets. You are a true asset to the company.

Couple of cans were dented and wasn't delivered in gift wrapping friendly way.

Also ordered from Verdant, their packaging was perfectly ready for Christmas wrapping paper.

Cheap Basic Packaging = Damaged cards

Card was really creased from top to bottom. I raised this straight away to which I received this reply (part copied over).

"Unfortunately it sounds like your card has been damaged in the postal system. We do take measures to try and ensure that your card is delivered without incurring any damage along the way, such as our 'do not bend' message printed on the envelope, but sometimes cards still get bent or otherwise affected. I can only apologise for the inconvenience caused here."

Well no s**t Sherlock of course it got damaged in the postal system. It’s not my job to ensure the card is adequately packaged. Moo pig manage it quite well. The fact the envelope states do not bend makes no difference to ‘the postal system" as they reffed. Post office don’t care and I’ve seen the load a postman has to carry. Again they cards are no where near adequately packaged. Your error not mine.
As an artist I often send prints out in the postal system. Sturdy cardboard ensures safe transit.

Disappointed in their attitude. Response basically infers tough luck!

Small business I won’t be supporting again if they are so nonchalant to damaged items.

Thanks but no thanks. One ⭐️ from me.

Haberdashery Dept v’s Grumpy Man in Cafe

Bought some made to measure curtains. Staff were in training but very courteous.

Gentleman serving in the Pausa cafe however was very rude and sulky. A regular in the queue told me he is always this way and laughed it off.

We didn’t laugh. We took lunch somewhere else instead!

Holly was amazing

Holly was amazing - I was trying to use the ' print in shop ' option today and tried 3 shops then all refused. I had one gentleman yell at me to get out of his shop . Holly has resolved my issue and will have a courier pick up my item tomorrow.
