Pronto e Perfeito!

O trabalho foi feito na perfeição - melhor do que eu imaginava. E embora eu esperasse (com base na minha opção de envio) que fosse entregue, chegou uma semana antes! Até o envio foi impecável: Fui informada de quando a encomenda seria entregue e pude fazer quaisquer alterações ou anotações... quer para alterar a data de entrega ou, se não planeássemos estar em casa quando o transportador batesse à nossa porta, podíamos designar que a nossa encomenda deveria ser deixada com um vizinho com uma determinada morada. Tudo funcionou na perfeição. Se ao menos mais empresas funcionassem tão bem - especialmente online!

Never again, (Transfer)Wise!

What went wrong this time? Everything! Despite having been a Wise customer and using its service to transfer my monthly Social Security payments from my USA bank account to my Portuguese one, (Transfer)Wise made it impossible for my transfer to be conducted in a timely fashion—or at all! Despite asking for my password, asking me to identify which boxes contain bicycles, and sending a code to my partner's móvil (I don't have one), Wise wanted more. And more. And more. Eighteen (18) separate times I answered additional security questions, uploaded both sides of my Portuguese residency card, and let its program take selfies of me. In addition to commands like "Move closer!" Wise's bots didn't like the pictures taken. So I repeated the process over and again ... until Wise accepted the uploaded pics. I then attempted to transfer my monthly US $1,500 from the same bank account to the same bank account, which I was immediately informed would (or could) happen instantaneously. Yet, when I confirmed and approved all the terms of the transfer, I was informed that it would take four business days (or more) for the funds to be transferred because, according to Wise, of the time it took for Wise to get the money from my USA account. Yet, looking at my account, it was clear that the funds had been removed immediately from my account by Wise. (This is the third time the same problems and issues had occurred.) Meanwhile, Wise continued to send me the same emails indicating that it didn't like the selfie and identity card uploads which it previously accepted. Five times I went through this process of taking and uploading new photos to its site. The sixth time, I said "No! Enough is enough!" This, despite being warned that my transfer in transit could be cancelled and returned to my source bank account if I didn't upload new photos within two business days. As my transfer was scheduled to arrive in my Portuguese bank account before the close of two business days, I wasn't worried. Until the money didn't appear in my account as scheduled. No notice from Wise. But, when I logged into my account, I saw that the transfer had been "paused" and the funds would (hopefully) be returned to my USA bank account whence they were taken. So, it's now over a week that my funds have been in limbo. I'm waiting to see them bank in my USA account before initiating a new transfer—but NOT with Wise!!! I've found a number of other currency transfer services whose rates are as good, if not better, than Wise's. And which promise the transfer to be concluded within two business days. And which don't require me to jump through hoops again and again to transfer funds regularly. Certainly, there are alternatives to Wise when we're talking about transferring larger amounts. And now there are options other than Wise. My next transfer will be made through Remitly.

In case you're waiting for a refund, don't worry your money is safe with Wise. We'll always share updates about your transfer via the app and/or email. So be sure to check your inbox, including spam and junk folders. The time it takes for a refund to get paid back into your account depends on a number of things. These include the way you paid for the transfer, the currency you paid with, and how long your bank takes to process refunds. You can find more on this in "How long do refunds take?" on our web.

Regarding verification, we're a financial institution, so we need to know who’s using our service, why they’re using it, and that their money comes from a legitimate place. Just the usual suspects in terms of computer glitches when switching from the reservation section to the payment site and then back, again, to the booking section. Relatively quick and easy to complete online!

Not the Best, but the Worst!

The worst! After placing my order nearly two months ago, I had to wait for the funds (debit card) to be validated as paid before the company would even order the merchandise: a refrigerator, stove/oven, and dishwasher. Numerous contacts with the company went unanswered -- or were "automatically" replied to with a standard reply -- and I had no idea when my merchandise would be delivered. This was vitally important, as the delivery address (my future home) is different from where we currently live. Finally, I received a reply that "I would be notified by the transport agent on the day of delivery." Never happened. Instead, the delivery company called to say they were outside the door ... 150 kms away! Worse yet, despite indicating that all items would "be delivered within three to five business days," on the date the delivery was made, I received an email notification that my dishwasher would be delayed. Best Electronics gave me two choices: To wait for the delivery (whenever) or to purchase a comparable dishwasher model through them for more immediate delivery--despite the fact that we had done extensive research and wanted this manufacturer and model. I replied that neither of their "options" was acceptable ... I wanted a complete and immediate refund. Best Electronics? No way. Absolutely the worst!

Our Second Review of Fareboom

This is the second, perhaps, third, time we have used Fareboom to book our transatlantic flights. Given that we have three Emotional Support Animals (dogs) who must travel aboard in the cabin with us ... that there are certain airports which we won't fly in or out of ... and, of course, that we're looking for the most convenient schedules at the very best prices, we are delighted that Fareboom has become "our" travel agency. Tired of pushing buttons when calling another travel agency for customer service, only to get disconnected or not be able to understand the person speaking on the other end? Frustrated by being given the runaround when trying to find some information? The real people -- with names, not numbers -- working at Fareboom truly care and go out of their way to ensure that all the details have been handled correctly ... before you leave. Even if you're leaving with dogs, cats, and/or Miniature Schnauzers! Try Fareboom, you'll never need another travel agency!

Had It with that Expedia-Orbitz-Travelocity Trio?

Tired of that unholy Expedia-Orbitz-Travelocity trio? Looking for the best rates backed by customer service that speaks -- and understands -- your language? Look no further than FareBoom. We have booked several international (and domestic) trips now with FareBoom and always have been pleased with their service and commitment to going the extra mile (or kilometer)! Our travels tend to be more complicated than most, as we need to have all the "official" documentations properly filed for our Emotional Support Animals who travel with us. We trust the dedicated staff at FareBoom -- especially Denise, Clara, and Marko -- to represent us fairly, accurately, and cost-effectively ... even when scheduling flights on multiple carriers.

Amazing Customer Service!

After purchasing two round-trip tickets for two separate trips to Spain (i.e., four round-trip tickets) on FareBoom, we suffered such bad turbulence on our first flight that we needed to seek medical attention. Our doctors prescribed that we bring Emotional Support Animals with us and provided the paperwork so that the airlines would allow them aboard with us.

We contacted FareBoom, where two of its executives -- Customer Service Supervisor Clara Morris and CEO Marko Cadez -- personally worked day and night, around the clock, continuously for two and a half weeks to resolve the problem.

More knowledgeable than the airlines (Iberia and British Air) about international "carriage" and carrier regulations, both Marko and Clara spent hours upon hours with airline representatives and embassy officials to help us.

Ultimately, they -- like us -- were held hostage by airline incompetence and possibly even malfeasance.

Did you know (we didn't) that the sum total made by FareBoom in booking these tickets was just about $7 for each of us?

We sincerely appreciate the hard work, efforts, and resources the staff at FareBook dedicated to us and our needs.

If your travel plans include bringing a pet with you, please be very certain that the travel agency and airline will support you ... before you book. These are extremely important considerations!

We highly recommend that you check, first, with FareBoom!

This was indeed a roller coaster for all of us who've worked on this complex Emotional Support Dogs carriage for weeks on end. We are thrilled that we were finally able to organize the transportation of three wonderful dogs to Spain where we hope they will bring much joy to their owners.
