A Smooth Transaction without Surprises

Everything was smooth and without any surprises. The delivery was a bist slow-ish but the goods arrived as announced. The product is of good quality - would order again.

My Experience was Very Good

Orbis Ways were able to design my trip on a short notice (one month). During the trip they provided excellent logistics and organisation. The luggage transfers were superb, everything went smoothly. I stayed in five different hotels - some were excellent, some average and there was one place I would avoid by any means. All in all, a memorable trip and a recommendable agent.

An Insurance that is (almost) Impossible to Cancel

Unhappy with the level of service, last year I decided to cancel the home insurance contract.

Cancelation is only possible during one month, between 60 and 30 days of the contract expiry, otherwise it is automatically renewed. OK, it is common practice everywhere in Europe.

The apartment is rented out, I live in Austria. So last year I sent a registered letter of cancelation to their branch office in Barcelona where I signed the contract. About three weeks later the letter was returned to me in Vienna. Reason? Their office refused to receive it (!) as "nobody is in charge of it". By the time I got the letter the one month cancelation period had expired, so I had to stay one more year with them.

This year I found on their website that contracts can be canceled by email sent to their Customer Service and so I did so. One full week passed and there was no response, so I called the Customer Service. After several calls with long hold, they acknowledged the recipient of the email and promised to respond in one week. That of course did not happen. Two out of four possible weeks for cancelation have passed and I am back to the square one, with no proof of cancelation of the contract (as I did not record the conversation in which they acknowledged the reception of my message with contract cancelation).

Finally, today I send a Burofax from the online office of Correos.es. I could do it thanks to my excellent knowledge of Spanish. I also had to pay for the service 32 Euros.

It is absolutely shocking how awful is their customer service. I strongly advise anybody looking for a home insurance, especially if a foreigner who does to speak good Spanish to absolutely avoid this company.

Difficult Returns

We ordered three times from Icon Mobel. Once the Nelson Chair for our apartment in Barcelona from their subsidiary Mueble Design. It arrived in a couple of days and was of superb quality.
Once the Ice table for our apartment in Vienna, again excellent experience. I left both times 5 stars on Trust Pilot.
Unfortunately the third order (leather Egg Chair and ottomane) went wrong. The quality and craftsmanship were extremely poor, the reclining and lifting mechanism dd not work.

Upon receiving the product we immediately contacted them through their website to ask for a return sheet. There was no answer for more than a week. Nobody answers the Spanish number listed on website. We sent an email but did not get response. Finally we sent them a Burofax and are waiting for response + the refund of 1,235 Euros.

I am giving this experience so far 2 stars (fast delivery).

14 February update: We wrote on a new email address that we found on Trusted Shops. We received an answer the following day and the return process has apparently started now.

21 February update: Once the return process started, the pick up was in 2 days' time. We are now waiting for the goods to reach the warehouse and our money to be repaid.

Excellent after-sales service

We ordered three kitchen splash glass plates. The product arrived in time, and is of good quality.

Unfortunately, screws were missing for one of the plates. We contacted VidaXL (the real seller via the home24 Market), they answered in less than 24 hours and replaced the missing parts in less than a week time. Excellent after-sale service. Kudos for VidaXL!

We ordered a round dining table on Monday, 9 September and it was delivered in our apartment in Barcelona on Thursday, 12 September, with a delivery slot of one hour being given by SEUR. This was not the first order from Sklum, and we always had good experience. We love the products.

Parcel not delivered in parcel shop because it is too big???

Again a terrible experience with DPD.

This time around I ordered a delivery at a nearby parcel shop. As I know that their delivery guys often do not bother ringing my apartment bell but instead drop incoming parcels in pick up shops of their liking, I thought this time I will at least choose a shop close to my house... But customer can never win in case of DPD.

The delivery was scheduled for the 19 November. On the 17th I received a DPD Predict email announcing a "soon" delivery. One week later, it is 24 November and no other news from DPD. The internet tracking status is the same "On the way". I call the parcel shop, the item is not there. On DPD live chat (79-person waiting line!) they tell me that "unfortunately the parcel was too big to be dropped at the shop (!) so it is in our central warehouse (!)". And? No email? No phone call? No status update on the net?

I could imagine the parcel to be 50x50x50 cm. Today (25 November) I write again and ask if they could deliver it in my house (maybe the messenger guy is in a good mood today to ring my bell?) but I was told that the parcel has been sent back to the merchant.

One would expect DPD to know the size of the parcels their parcel shops can accept... And if a problem happens, one would expect an email report after 5 days. But: Nothing. Nada. Zero.

The parcel lost between DPD and Storebox

Second time in one month, I am at home whole day and they leave the parcel in a shop. I see now it happens to many customers. I am new in Austria - is there no a customer protection group, a shame website, a black list to add them on? Also, what they are doing can be easily described as a scam, is there no a government agency dealing with unfair business practice? EU laws on consumer protection?

This is what happened this time: I got a message on Oct 18 from DPD Predict that "Between 9 am and 5 pm" the package would be delivered. I was at home whole day, but nobody ringed. No parcel delivered. When I tracked the parcel that evening it said "Dein Paket befindet sich gerade auf dem Weg in eine Pickup Paketstation. Wir verständigen dich, sobald das Paket zur Abholung bereitliegt."

October 19, morning, the status of the parcel is the same: "On the way to a Storebox". I did not receive anything else. I contacted DPD customer service by chat, they tell me that the parcel is in a Storebox nearby (!) and I need a numerical code to pick it up. "The code was sent by email to the address you provided to the merchant" they wrote. Not true: I provided the only email address I have and I know it was correct because I already got the DPD Predict email the day before. Nevermind, I write to Storebox, attach my photo ID and in 15 minutes I get the numerical code needed to pick up my parcel.

I go to the Storebox but the number does notwork. I can not enter. I call the Storebox customer service, the guy at the computer says to try again with a hashmark after the number. Does not work. "I can see that you are trying" he said - no idea if he can see me on the camera or in the computer system, but I could not enter the shop...

I go back home and write again to DPD customer chat. They tell me I have to send an email inquiry again to Storebox (!)

I do so. In 10 minutes Storebox replies that there is obviously a technical issue, that they contacted the technitian of the given Storebox and will contact me ASAP.

I am waiting, will send an update as soon as I get some info.

Do not order from companies using SEUR

If I could, I would give them zero stars as they do not deserve a single one. They make two delivery trials the same afternoon, two hours apart, nobody is at home - so they send the produce back to the merchant. An automated message is sent to me in the same time, offering pick up shops in the neighborhood to chose from. I select one, but the commerce is already sent back, zero effort to make a solution, to make it work... Total mess of a company, but unfortunately many Spanish companies use them. If I see SEUR as a delivery option, it is a clear no-go for me, do not order anything to be delivered by SEUR.

Delivery date as a moving target

Ordered on Leroymerlin.es flooring tiles that were supposed to be delivered on September the 3rd, but nobody showed up. After several calls last week they set up a new delivery date: September the 9th (today). When we called again this morning to get confirmation that the tiles would be delivered today we were told that the transport company would pick them up from the shop today and deliver "between today and tomorrow". The workers are coming tomorrow morning to place the tiles... We are very anxious and disappointed!

We had a good experience!

We ordered the fourth time from SKLUM (once in Spain from their Spanish website and three times from the German website for delivery in Austria) and we always had a good experience. This time we ordered the GOTY chairs (Arne Jacobsen replica) and they arrived in great shape. Will be back again!
