Not great customer service and expensive

I paid three months in advance and was advised over the phone that breakfast was included and advised by email that I had paid.

When we arrived breakfast was not included and I was asked to pay again which I did as I did not have payment records at hand. When I left I was also asked to pay a third time but refused. When I moaned to a friend as to why they did not have to pay again the reception manager was rude ("I told you why you have to pay"!)

Unfortunately the same staff run the reception/bar/kitchen area (with all these amenities in the same room. This means they get distracted with administration stuff on their computer screens when you are waiting for a drink or for assistance.

They claim to have a 24 hour bar but when we asked for cocktails they said they had stopped making them as it was too late. When I asked if they still served other drinks the reception manager said ("of course we do"!) So flippant!! Why would that be obvious.

My brother (and 4 others) also stayed at the same time. He paid £230 for a small room without breakfast and I paid £143 for a small room with breakfast (which i never received).

No tea making service in room or iron.

Silly child-like graffiti on the lift mirrors and walls. Felt very patronising.

Will they pay your genuine claim?

Everyone seems concerned about how easy it was to get a policy.

Wait till you try to get a claim settled. They implied my claim was fraudulent and I was thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Back in 2009 they made me use a 3rd party of their choice to fix the car. When it was returned it was damaged and I had to find another firm to fix the damage and the original claim.

Turned down for small loan.

Tried to get me to use their other lender with high APR (for bad credit customers) despite Experian saying I have an excellent credit score. Very underhand.

Despite having insurance with them and having tiny credit card debts, excellent credit rating, 90% equity in my house, savings, above average salary they have turned me down for a small loan to do building work.

Luckily John Lewis gave me the loan.

Very dodgy company. Will also cancel my insurance at the next renewal as no longer trust them.

More expensive than a pay day loan!!

21 March 2019 I though I paid my entire credit card balance but failed to pay £4.19 by mistake. They have added £24.00 of charges as at 25 April. Disgusting. Only just noticed today that I did not pay the £4.00. Not even going to complain as they normally don't bother responding. Am going to pay and close my account, Why is M&S such a rubbish company?!

Feefo restricts feedback …

Feefo does not let any old customer leave feedback only selected customers. Not sure who does the selecting but despite using Grape tree regularly I cannot give feedback via Feefo.

Website pricing and feefo misleading.

Used their online service 3 times.

1st time the bag inside the box was open and the food scattered around the box. 2nd time they over charged slightly. 3rd time overcharged slightly due to advertised discounts not being given. They advertise a rating 4.6/5 by feefo but as a customer you don't necessarily get asked to provide feedback to feefo. Having used them 3 times I was never asked for feedback, so seems very "selective" and not like trustpilot.

The online prices seem to beat Holland & Barrett and the service is very quick.

Service is appalling with rude staff and out of stock most days.
