Extremely disappointing service and lack of accountability
I had my car’s air conditioning recharged at Protyres, and shortly after the service my AC completely stopped working. I was later advised that the compressor no longer engages.
When I contacted Protyres, I asked for details of the oil used during the recharge, as my vehicle uses an electric compressor that requires a specific, non-conductive oil. Despite repeated requests over the past three months, the company has been unable (or unwilling) to confirm what oil was used.
This raises serious concerns that a standard, incorrect oil may have been used — which can cause damage to electric compressors. Based on the sequence of events, it appears highly likely that the compressor failure was a direct result of Protyres’ improper servicing.
To make matters worse, communication has been extremely poor. After months of chasing for a simple answer, I am still left without resolution and a non-functional air conditioning system.
Overall, a deeply frustrating experience marked by technical negligence and lack of responsibility. I would strongly advise others to avoid using Protyres for AC servicing, especially for vehicles with electric compressors.
