Poor customer service and unfair refund fee

We booked a round-trip flight Oslo–Erbil for July 12–August 2 through Travellias. Due to the conflict in Iran and the rapidly changing security situation, Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all non-essential travel to Iraq, including the Erbil region. Turkish Airlines first cancelled our tickets and then kept shifting the departure times without giving a clear reason. We don’t feel safe or looked after.

When we asked Travellias to help cancel and refund our tickets, we were told they can’t do it directly. Instead, we have to pay a 1 000 NOK fee per passenger just to submit a refund request to the airline—without any guarantee we’ll actually get our money back. That feels completely unreasonable.

I’ve also spoken to customer service by phone multiple times, but they refused to help. The agents were aggressive and told me I should have bought my tickets directly from the airline instead of through Travellias. They even transferred me to another department—which turned out to be closed—and now no one answers my calls.

Under EU regulation 261/2004, passengers are entitled to a full refund if a flight is cancelled or significantly changed without proper notice. We expect Travellias to process our refund without charging extra fees, or at least cover the fee themselves.

For now, we can’t recommend Travellias to anyone who needs flexibility and peace of mind when booking.
