My son bought a blender

My son bought a blender - Moulinex. The shop did not give a receipt. The blender did not work when my son tried to use it at home. My son is not Italian and a bit too inexperienced. It seems the blender could not be exchanged / returned for some reason. This is strange as it never worked and thus was never used. This seems like a scam. Sell a broken product to a foreign student.
In the meantime, my son went back to the shop. It was checked and he was told that the blender did not have a warranty. The blender could not be repaired, and the only option was to buy a new one. My son gave back (!!!) the blender without proof. The story is actually too funny and embarrassing - my son went to buy a blender - paid 40.19 EUR (a different price then indicated as there was promotion) - later went back and returned the blender. Result: 40 euro lost and not even a broken blender. People were friendly but this is a a strange experience.
