Vendors can remove negative reviews!!

TRUST PILOT allows vendors to remove negative snd critical reviews. I had a highly negative experience with a company called Outletto.dk. They took money out of my account, using my CC, without authorization. Yet, when I exposed what occurred, the vendor was able to question the validity of my customer experience and get the negative review removed! Yup. The vendor can challenge the review, have it removed by Trustpilot, and demand that the customer find documentation - which sometimes isn't retained, or can take excessive time and effort to find. All I wanted to do was prevent others from having a similar experience - warning people about the vendor. TRUST PILOT policy allowed the vendor to 'wear me down,' challenging the accuracy of the events and get the negative, critical review removed. I finally did prove the case, providing records. Meanwhile, Outletto carried on as usual. That's a BAD POLICY and wholly counter intuitive. It means TRUST PILOT can be manipulated by unsavory vendors and can't be trusted to retain negative reviews! Very disappointing.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your feedback. We’re committed to being the most trusted online review community on the market. To maintain trust, we allow people to report reviews that contravene our User Guidelines. But we also balance this by requiring the person reporting to explain exactly which guideline has been contravened for each reported review, and a prohibition against abusing this tool. Where possible, our Compliance Team will work with reviewers to help them get genuine reviews back online. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Compliance Team at compliance@trustpilot.com.

Kind regards,
Trevor
