Excellent Experience with Yachtbasen – Highly Recommended!

I recently had an outstanding experience with Yachtbasen while selling our cherished 45' sailboat from 1986. From start to finish, their team demonstrated fantastic professionalism, ensuring that every detail of the sale process was meticulously handled.

Yachtbasen made the entire experience remarkably smooth and efficient. They ensured that all required aspects were covered, facilitating seamless communication between us as sellers and the buyer. This level of support not only fostered excellent pre-sale, during-sale, and post-sale interactions but also resulted in a very quick and successful sale.

Their expertise was evident in aligning the listing price with the market conditions, as well as the age and quality of our boat. The clear guidance and well-informed advice provided by the Yachtbasen team were invaluable, especially as we navigated a process in which we had little prior experience.

I warmly recommend Yachtbasen to anyone looking for a hassle-free sales process. With them, you are truly in good hands!

Non-professionals

Non-professionals, liars and racists, that's my opinion after trying to buy a boat through them.
Long story short, I filled out the form on their website, no one answered me, so I called and was told that I had to come back the next day to find out if the boat was still available, because they were waiting for a response from a potential local buyer.
The next day I was informed that the boat was available, and I was asked for a 20% deposit to reserve it.
Being from Romania, 2500km away, and taking into account how many frauds are committed on the internet today, I had no intension of paying almost 9k euros deposit for some pictures of a boat on a website and a talk on the phone, without seeing the real thing, so I told them that I was willing to fly to Copenhagen, to go to a viewing, starting from the next day, just to let me know when and were the seller is available.
The next day I received an email informing me that the boat was going to be sold to potential local buyer, they didn’t wanted to wait for me to do the viewing of the boat, because I didn’t pay the 20%, witch was not the case for the potential local buyer, maybe because I am not “danish”?
And all I wanted to do before paying them, was to see if the boat exists, in real life, not only in the pictures, was that hard?
Draw your own conclusions.

Hi Adrian

Your review surprises us a lot, as we have been completely transparent with you from the very start and informed you exactly how a sales process should be carried out.

When you first contacted us, we told you that we already had another interested buyer for the boat who might want to buy it, but a purchase agreement had not been signed at that time.

You asked if we could reserve the boat for you until you wanted to see it the following week. It is completely normal practice that if you want to reserve a boat, a deposit must be paid, This is a completely normal process with all brokers throughout Europe.

You chose not to do this, because you wanted to see the boat first, which is of course completely fair, but it means that you cannot reserve the boat.

Therefore, we connected you via e-mail with the owner of the boat to schedule a time for a viewing.

You never contacted the owner, and the next day we sold the boat to the buyer who had shown interest prior to you. We called you right away and informed you that the boat was being sold.

We believe that Yachtbasen has complied with all rules for good customer service and good manners towards you.

A Yacht Broker always looks after the Seller's interests in getting the boat sold as quickly and smoothly as possible, which we were very transparent about to you.

Hence, we do not understand your negative feedback towards us as you have been informed about all matters from the start, and you have been continuously updated by Yachtbasen throughout the process.

Best regards,
Team Yachtbasen

Lousy company, Yachtbasen let the client pays for their own mistakes.

Lousy company, Yachtbasen ApS Århus, Denmark let the client pays for their own mistakes.

We live in the Netherlands and were interested in a boat that Yachtbasen had for sale. Yachtbasen e-mailed the location of the boat, but later it turned out to be the wrong location. By the time they sent us a correction with the right location (three days later) we already had booked a hotel and flight. Unfortunately we could not cancel the flight tickets: costs € 523,00. Yachtbasen should have taken responsibility, as they had send the wrong information, and reimburse us for these costs. But instead they tried to blame our broker. So very low, how can this be his fault? After he received the right location he informed us straight away. And then they stopped responding to our emails. This is how Yachtbasen acts and treats clients.
Further pay close attention because Yachtbasen states in the advertisement that VAT is paid, even though they have no proof of this. If you buy a boat without the original documents regarding VAT, you risk having to pay the VAT sooner or later.

However, we find it difficult to see how Yachtbasen's reaction compares to reality. A few facts:

Emne: ÅRØSUND, not Ærøsund

We just got aware that there was a misspelling and 300 kilometers difference - the boat is in Årøsund (near Haderslev), and not Ærøsund, as written earlier. Sorry for this confusion.

Your comment: "Regarding not replying to your last email, we have given our opinion and therefore we see no point in continuing to waste our time" is really annoying: at first we didn't get any response at all. A week later we asked if we still will get an answer. The one and only response we got by then is the one where Yachtbasen tried to put the blame on our broker. Then we forward the emails with dates about the location and booking flights but we didn't got any reaction anymore.

Thank you for your complaint. We find it difficult to see how it relates to reality, though.

It is true that we made a misspelling when first writing the name of the marina. Sorry for that. However, in the same e-mail there was a link to the marina where the boat is located. Furthermore, we have subsequently several times sent you and your broker the full address and contact information on the owner of the boat.

Regarding VAT documentation, we have informed you and your broker from the very start that there is no documentation on paid VAT. Hence this matter cannot come as a surprise.

Regarding not answering your latest e-mail, we have stated our opinion, and therefore we see no point in continuing to waste our time.

Without even receiving a deposit, we agreed to reserve the boat for you to give you a fair treatment and time to visit the boat etc. Hence, you have gotten a very good treatment from. Even if we had had another buyer who was ready to buy the boat, we would have given you all the time you needed – and this without having received a deposit. You won't find this service at many other brokers. Normally we, and all other brokers claim a deposit before reserving a boat.
