Morocco tour with overnight in the desert

Actually, the trip was very nice except at the very end it was pure stress.

Travelbird's local partner, who was supposed to take us from the hotel to the Marrakesh airport, had simply just forgotten us.

Despite repeated telephone calls nothing happened. Only after the third call was a car sent (1 1/2 hours before departure). The driver then committed a traffic violation in a roundabout and was promptly stopped by a police officer. Driver and policeman then clashed with each other, which led to further delays. Finally, one hour before departure, we arrived at the airport and we had to get first through the entrance security control. At 10:10 (departure is 11:00) we were at the Lufthansa luggage check in. The LH clerk then told us that flight check in is closed and did not accept the luggage.

After massive pressure, he accepted the luggage 10 minutes later. 40 minutes before departure we had to go through the actual security check and the Moroccan customs. We managed to be 10 minutes before departure at the gate to learn that the flight was 1 1/2 hours late.

This was now lucky for Travelbird and for us otherwise we probably would have to spend another night in Morocco. In the meantime, we have learned that you have to be at Morocco airport at least 2 hours in advance to be able to master the many controls, etc.

The communication between the local partner and us had not worked before, because the booked city tour guide showed up without notice and luckily we had not left the hotel yet.

We have communicated this by email with Travelbird. We were then offered € 35 compensation which is a joke measured by the stress we had. We then asked Travelbird to give the € 35 to the local partner so that he can print stickers for the drivers with the inscription "Do not forget to pick up the guests".

Last but not least, we found out that the telephone conversation with Travelbird in Germany costs money. The Travelbird contact number, 032211001160, is not free of charge. We paid for the 3 minutes one euro. Imagine being on hold for 10 minutes and then talking to the Travelbird staff for another 5 minutes, all at the expense of the customer. This is not stated by Travelbird on their website that there is a cost for this telephone number.

These communication issues with the local partner are not new, see review by Franziska Ar, Nov 14, 2017.

I would rather pay a bit more in the future and then have a travel company that has a reliable partner and not rip me off when I call the travel company by phone.

Very good end complete information, everything went smoothly ans I really enjoyed this short stay in Malta very much! Thanks to TravelBird and the nice people working there and in the Topaz hotel!

We have travelled 3 times with Travelbird now. For the next vacation we choosed Travelbird again. Good quality and a good price.

The accomodation was very good and aspecially when you come by car .the location in front off the boulevard periferique is perfect

Really nice staff. The transfer btw was very pleasant too. The driver speaks his languages and was a real gentleman. He told a lott about Lisbon.

Everything was arranged correctly and on time, flights, transfers, excursion. Hotel was definitely value for money, especially excellent breakfast. If TravelBird keeps up this standard, we'll book many more trips with them!

We have made several voyages now with TravelBird, eaven with a wheelchair to St Petersburg. Everything good arranged. Fine service, easy to keep in touch.

Good easy clear

All the trips we made with travelbird were fabulous. You don't have to go away for so long. A couple of days away is also very interesting because we absorb the surroundings and and make pictures/photos. Very intersting locations.

Very and clear services

Our citytrip to Warsaw & Krakow, organised by Travel bird was more than well organised. Luxury appartment & hotel, both well located. Traintrip including a complementary bottle of water, whole daytrip to Auschwitz ánd Birkenau with excellent guides and driver, ample digital information during our trip... We were truly amazed about the value for money!

Good value for money on their vacationtrips, easy to communicate and great service.

Went to London and Edinburgh with Travelbird. Again a great experience. Nice hotel in London and an ok hotel in Edinburgh.
