I am writing to detail a concerning experience with Billing finance auto finance department following the total loss of my vehicle.
The process began when my insured vehicle was declared a total loss. I promptly obtained the settlement figure from Billing finance as requested by my insurance company and forwarded it to them. The insurance payout, however, was less than the outstanding settlement amount owed.
Upon contacting the finance team to discuss this deficit, I inquired about the procedure for paying the remaining balance. I was initially informed that I would need to establish a payment arrangement to settle the account.
However, when I called today to formally set up this arrangement, I received alarming and unsatisfactory information. I was told that entering into any formal payment plan for this remaining balance would be reported to the credit bureaus as a "missed payment" or similar negative mark.
I repeatedly sought a clear explanation for why a mutually agreed-upon plan to settle a legitimate debt would result in a negative credit entry, especially since all contractual payments had been made on time up to the point of the accident. No satisfactory or logical answer was provided; the representative only reiterated that it was company policy.
This approach to customer service and credit reporting is highly unreasonable and fails to account for extenuating circumstances like a total loss. It creates an unnecessary and damaging financial burden for a customer acting in good faith.
Combined with what I found to be a non-competitive APR offered at the outset, I deeply regret my decision to use their services. I cannot recommend Billing finance for auto financing and would advise potential customers to carefully consider these practices and explore other options.
I feel heart broken, and depressed with the way this issues was handled. No compassionate from the team.

I bought electric van and they paid for the van i haven't see it and second i pay all my payment and I finish the payment from first they told me if you pay early you goona pay less interest but they didn't do it i am so disappointed

Basically a month has passed yet there is nothing done about my reported issue. The reply to my previous rating saying that you put people at heart was and is still not true. I can't imagine that l am still paying for a car that has not been in use for 8 weeks because it was deemed a risk because of oil leaks. These oils leaks were not addressed or fixed when l bought the car,l was made to believe all issues are fine with the car. Now ,either billing finance or the dealer who dispatched the car can't locate what exactly was fixed to resolve the oil issues. Billing Finance wrote to say they are closing my case yet them ,even Zuto have not given evidence that the oil leaks were fixed. No garage has evidence that the issue was serviced.

I called Billing Finance today for a settlement quote. The first person I spoke to sounded really fed up and like she didn’t want to be there. The settlement quote she gave me didn’t make sense and she wasn’t prepared to explain it. After I came off the phone, I ran the numbers every which way I could and every single time I get an answer which is about £500 less than the settlement answer. I called and spoke to a different advisor, who ran through the numbers with me over the phone and when I insisted the numbers still don’t calculate, she told me she doesn’t have a calculator to confirm?! And she would send me over the calculations they use to work it out. She then just sent me the Consumer Credit Act, which still does not explain why there’s £500 difference!!! So unhelpful!! I’m considering taking this to the ombudsman!!
