first of all thanks to skill max academy team, there support and way the training was presented was very productive and appreciated, Especially my tutor Jhonell was took time to work with us as a group and also a very understanding guy. thanks a lot Jhonell again and skill max a lucky to have you.

I have really enjoyed my time at the Skills Max Academy in Birmingham. I completed the domestic energy assessor course there as well as the domestic retrofit course. The teacher Johnell was brilliant very informative and engaging.

The truth needs to come out about this company! The reviews where they claim to have nothing to do with the ill fated Millennium Academy that sank like the Titanic 5 years ago leaving hundreds of students without qualifications and thousands of pound out of pocket and millions of pounds of Government money disappear are simply UNTRUE. The Directors, 'so called Tutors' and even the office staff at skills Max Academy are the same as were at Millennium Academy.

Do your homework before attending this college, it is run by THE SAME DIRECTORS and you will learn nothing, your certificates will take a year to arrive, if ever, and you will lose your money and certainly wish you'd gone somewhere else. Still unsure? Then do a simple search at the companies house website: Look up Millennium Academy, company number: Millennium Academy: 06703626 and then Skills Max Academy, Company number: 08103134 and surprise surprise, same Directors!

Also, look when they resigned from Millennium '2020', just before it went 'bang' and they walked away with millions of Government money (and my money). They should NOT be running a college and especially not receiving any more Government funding. This is a scandal and needs to be investigated, genuine students are being disadvantaged, foreign nationals who don't speak English and have no way of getting through a UK qualification under their own steam are being fast tracked through here with dubious exam and invigilation processes and the unwitting government and OFSTED seem blissfully unaware.

Before enrolling, prospective students should research these connections carefully and review the company’s (and Directors) track record. I urge the relevant authorities — including Ofsted and the Education and Skills Funding Agency — to investigate whether public funds are being used appropriately and whether students are receiving the education and certification they are paying for.

A NOTE TO TRUSTPILOT: Trustpilot should reflect the previous bad practice of Skills Max Academies' Directors and be more curious about the 5 star reviews because when the truth comes out about Skills Max Academy and their dubious background, Trustpilot, as a genuine review company, might want to be on the right side of history rather than blocking genuine 1 star reviews.

Genuine students deserve transparency, fair treatment, and proper delivery of qualifications — not delays, poor service, or financial loss. DO NOT GO NEAR SKILLS MAX ACADEMY! You will certainly regret it.

Skills Max Academy is an amazing organisation. I finished my DEA course there with Jhonnell. All the staff there have been very helpful, especially Jhonnell, who goes above and beyond to help all his students. Can't recommend them enough:).

The course was amazing, thanks to Jhonell, a vibrant and patient tutor. He ensured everyone succeeded by pausing whenever something wasn’t clear and explaining it again. With students from diverse backgrounds, he never made anyone feel inadequate, making the learning experience supportive and inclusive.

if I was to give an example he organises in a way were everyone can understand and if someone has a hard time in doing so he will revise what they might misunderstood or miss out on.

I had the privilege of being taught by Jhonell Lana on the Level 3 DEA course, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Jhonell’s teaching style is clear, engaging, and supportive, making the complex nature of Domestic Energy Assessments much easier to understand. He has a rare ability to balance professionalism with approachability, which creates a positive and motivating learning environment.

Throughout the course, he demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the subject matter, always taking the time to answer questions thoroughly and ensure that every learner was confident before moving on. His patience and encouragement helped me build not only my technical skills but also my confidence in applying them.

DO NOT TOUCH. This company is run by the same people who were the Directors of Millennium Academy which went bust about 5 years ago after the Directors took hundreds of students money and went bust. Millennium Academy were struck off by OFSTED for bad practice after Leaving so many people without qualifications and thousands of pounds out of pocket. I lost £5000 with Millennium Academy in Ilford and now it looks like the same people have set up in Canning Town as Skills Max Academy. It has taken me 5 years to recover from the money that these people stole from me. This place is a shambles, they don't have proper teachers and they are just trying to claim Government money and they will run off with it like they did last time. Horrible Company and scammers, you will lose your money and not get good training.

If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience at the Canning Town branch was extremely disappointing. The receptionist was unhelpful and quite rude. As a beginner, I was simply trying to understand which level I should start with, but instead of guiding me, she questioned me in a way that felt more like an interrogation.

Their advertisement is also misleading. It clearly states that beginners can start at level 3 if they pass the initial test, which is why I asked about it. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn’t seem to have any knowledge of this policy.

The only positive part of my visit was when I spoke to a teacher afterward—he explained things much more clearly. Honestly, they should consider having knowledgeable, patient staff at the reception, since that’s the first impression students get.

This we a very educational experience my tutor Jhonnel was very patient, considerate and consistent with explaining everything and the staff members definitely assisted in making a effort for me so I’d definitely recommend doing DEA and retrofitting to friends and family
