West Putney sale success

We recently sold our property in West Putney through James Anderson. They did a wonderful job in taking us through the process from beginning to end. We bought the house through James Anderson 17 years ago and was not disappointed by choosing them again to market it for us in 2024/25 We achieved our goal and within the time frame to secure the property that we wanted in Sussex. It was a tricky process securing our next property and they seemed to help us (the various agents in Sussex) and the buyer stay on track throughout. We cannot thank the team including Graham, Mark and Lana enough. Mark started the process with knowledge and tact to steer us through the initial phase to understand the realistic prospects with marketing and Graham found the perfect buyer within a very short time frame. Lana helped us over the final hurdles to completion. A good team and always available. Thanks AGAIN!

Jake C and Michael B were very helpful…

Jake C and Michael B were very helpful through our house buying process. They kept it on track so we achieved our aim of moving by our target date.

A 'sold' sign was drilled into our wall after we had moved in which was surprising. It was removed eventually but was a shame as permission was not sought from us.

Dreadful company.

Have just read about this appalling company in the Daily Telegraph Katie Morley column.They seem to be utterly dysfunctional incompetent and uncaring.The way they treated their client was a disgrace.Apparently they are now being taken to the Property Ombudsman.Good.

Stay clear

The worst experience as a Tennant with them. I would not go near this agency, be ware they make a mockery of one’s most precious thing- our home.
Unprofessional, snarky and unreliable.

Came for a viewing today at 6pm

Came for a viewing today at 6pm. I warned the negotiator, Harvey Janaway, that i’ll likely be a few minutes late as it would be a bit tight with work. He said ‘no problem, I have a viewing at 6:15 so if you’re late you can do it at the same time, I’ll wait around either way’ I arrived at exactly 6:15 and he wasn’t there. No call from him, and didn’t pick up his direct dial. Absolute disgrace, complete waste of my time, won’t be using them for my property search.

As a landlord my experience with James…

As a landlord my experience with James and Anderson agent was the worst I have ever done.They provide me with new tenants and after 6 months they stay in the property the destroy it.
I was paying for full management services to James and Anderson for check-in the property but unfortunately they didn't do anything.
So if you are landlord and you want to give your property to James and Anderson don't do it they don't care.

Brilliant experience

Our experience with James Anderson for buying a property was brilliant.
We collaborated with Jasmine Hachem, who went above and beyond to help us find the right property and then assisted us in the buying process. In our case, the process was a bit longer due to our personal circumstances and short credit history in the UK, but Jasmine was available, supportive and understanding.
We’d definitely recommend James Anderson to anyone looking to buy in London.
And a big thank you from us!

I am utterly disappointed with the…

I am utterly disappointed with the service provided by Laurie-ann, the estate agent. I had booked a viewing for a house through James Anderson Barnes and was initially quite excited about the prospect. However, my experience quickly turned sour.

During the viewing, I found a house that I really liked and decided to make an offer. Laurie-ann assured me that she would send me an email to discuss the offer with the landlord and proceed with the necessary steps. Sadly, that was the last I heard from her.

I patiently waited for her email, hoping to move forward with the rental process. Days went by, and I received no communication from her. In a bid to follow up, I sent her an email inquiring about the progress of my offer. Unfortunately, yet unsurprisingly, my efforts were met with silence.

I find it utterly unprofessional and disrespectful to leave a potential tenant hanging in such a manner. The lack of communication and disregard for my time and interest in the property are highly concerning. I expected a certain level of service and professionalism from an estate agent, and Laurie-ann fell incredibly short of those expectations.

My experience with Laurie-ann has left me feeling frustrated and disheartened. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with her or her agency to reconsider. A simple acknowledgment or a timely response to my emails could have made a significant difference in my perception of her services. It is with regret that I have to leave a one-star review for this lackluster experience.

Excellent, unbeatable service. Thankyou

Excellent, unbeatable service over the years from James Anderson, Barnes: selling, buying, renting out and Management and finally selling again.
We thank you all: Sarah, Jack, Michael, Rory and David and especially to David for his prompt and helpful answers to queries. In this difficult time for Sales, 2022, we thank Graham and Tim for finding a Buyer and guiding the Sale to a conclusion and especially to Tim for keeping in touch by phone with help and advice. Terrible

We went to enquire about properties to rent last Saturday at the Putney branch( south west London) and spent quite some time with what seemed to be a very inexpert agent who showed us few property from their database:we chose three that looked promising, we then agreed with another agent Miles Morgan who looked like the one in charge that told us he would call us the next Monday to agree on a day, possibly a Saturday to go and see them.
Monday they did not call, so I did, asking to talk to him directly and what happened, instead of arranging the date, he started asking me questions from the beginning, like he never saw us, how many people, how many rooms etc. and said that the properties we asked for wouldn't be suitable for us and the landlords would not agree, then he ended showing another awful property ,which we already said not to before and disappointed by this I finished the call.
I believe this to be a standoffish behaviour, unprofessional and condescending.They should not treat people like they are stupid, it's disgusting and disrespectful.

Firstly, I apologise that you feel mislead and have been left frustrated following your visit to the branch on Saturday. The lady that you initially sat down with on Saturday is a new member of the team and is still learning the ropes, so may not have ascertained all of the necessary details from you before suggesting some potential properties for you to view. Following Miles’s conversation with you on Monday to try and fully understand further your search requirements, our understanding is that there are three of you looking to move in together (two cousins plus a friend). Unfortunately, in the current market it is unlikely that a Landlord will accept three people in a two bedroom property, which I think is what Miles was trying to convey to you.
I’m sorry if he came across in any way rude or patronising but I assure you this was not his intention. He always prides himself on excellent customer service and receives great feedback from both Landlords and Tenants. He has asked me to pass on his apologies.

We would love the opportunity to try and find you a nice three bedroom property but will respect your wishes if you would prefer not to deal with James Anderson moving forward.

Excellent Service, Highly Recommend!

My husband and I recently purchased a flat through James Anderson, Putney and had the good fortune of Kelly and Jack seeing through the purchase.

We were unfortunate enough to have a difficult time with a cladding issue, which saw the purchase take almost 6 months from our offer being accepted to us getting the keys. During this time Kelly was absolutely amazing. She gave us regular updates and calls and spent time explaining everything so clearly we were never worried that anything would go wrong. Luckily everything worked out and we are now enjoying our lovely new home!

Thanks Kelly and Jack, you have both made the entire process easy and well worth the wait. Highly recommend their services.

Fabulous Local Agent

We have just purchased an apartment in Putney.
Throughout the process the James Anderson team could not have been more friendly, engaged and professional.
With masses of local knowledge and contacts, they could not have been more helpful or provided a better service.
Thoroughly recommend.

No better agent in Putney - James Anderson blows the competition out of the water!

The #JamesAnderson West Putney branch (Lower Richmond Road) have been superb from start to finish on the sale of our house.

Ably led/overseen by office head, Jack, with tenacious work from Kelly and Declan to identify suitable buyers led to a very positive outcome for our house sale with the delightful Kelly ultimately securing the right buyer.

Their knowledge of the market and advice on where/with whom to strike a deal with has put them head and shoulders above the competition including a larger local agent who we sacked for poor service/advice, feeding us misinformation and sitting back and letting Rightmove do the lazy work for them.

Quite the opposite from JA, in particular Kelly, who has been extremely proactive and cooperative throughout, working at breakneck speed and overcoming challenges with ease and professionalism when needed.

We would not hesitate to recommend them when considering which agent to use.

Deceptive crooks

The most untrustworthy, selfish estate agents I have had the displeasure of dealing with.

James Anderson failed to acknowledge an offer I put in for a house because someone else had offered higher. They did not respond to my offer after days of pressurising me because it was not high enough for them. I assume they didn't pass it on to the seller either.

Once we finally found the house of our dreams, they then proceeded to allow viewers into the house after it was off the market and accepted a new offer on it on the day we were meant to exchange (the week before completion). There was no regard as to how immoral this was or any empathy for how this had horribly affected people's lives.

Now that we are beginning the search again for a house, I most certainly will not be buying through James Anderson, and recommend others don't either if they don't want to be tricked and made to feel awful.

To be clear, you were not buying the house through James Anderson. My company were asked by the owner to sell the property and we simply complied with this request. I do not condone gazumping and wish that the government would act to eradicate it for the benefit of everybody, Estate Agents included.
