DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

They do not honour the premium protection / insurance you pay for. They will tell you one thing when you collect the keys, and then claim something different in the event something happens to the car. Awful experience. Will never use Europcar ever again. I am going to report them for misselling products.

BE PREPARED FOR PAYING FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS OLD DAMAGES…

BE PREPARED FOR PAYING FOR OLD DAMAGES MADE BY OTHER COSTUMERS
As normally, I videoed my car before and after hiring. After the hand in at Ljubljana Airport I was told that the car was damaged with a new scratch inside the boot approx. 1 cm. I did not make the scratch. I was fully insured but I still have to pay 431 own risk Euros for repair (I am aware that the scratch will never be repaired). If another customer makes another scratch next to it, he/she will be charged too, and the damage will never be fixed).
What makes me upset is that that I claimed not to have made the damage, and I was forced to sign for it since I was unter time pressure to catch my plane. I asked the assistant If he meant I was lying? He replied, that the dammage must have occurred when I handled my luggage. I refused, and I would have noticed, and admitted if it was the case. I insisted that he wrote that I signed under protest. It makes me upset that I am accused of lying it is very intimidating , even in front of other costumers. It is so unprofessional.
I posted my video of the car filmed from outside without any damages. I have never experienced , that it was necessary to do that inside or under the car. Did I check the boot before driving the car? No, I didn't. Of course I didn't. I didn't either check the oil-level, the tirepressure, the undercarriage, the suspension, the aircondition, the exhaust etc. This is not what you expect to to when you take over the car. I have actually been working for Europecar some years back in Copenhagen, so perhaps I am fully aware and entitled to express what to expect as a customer and deliverer. A very nice car but a very disappointing and bad experience.
If you hire a car here, be sure to take a very close video og the vehicle both outside, but also inside. Be sure that everything works, and there ar no damages from earlier customers. Check panels, locks, any knobs and contacts. Nothing seems too smal. I would not hesitate also to take a video or the handling procedure, if I am ever exposed to such practice. Perhaps I should ask the staff to make a thorough video of the car prior to hiring it to customers.

BEWARE OF THE SCAM!

As people have already stated in other reviews, I feel that they scam you upon returning home.
We rented a car from Ljubjlana and dropped off at Zadar and were charged 480 euros for an alledged scratch on the rear of the car. The money was simply taken from my account without any pre-warning. Now they will not reply to my emails asking for further evidence that the damage shown is actually the car that I hired.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

EUROPCAR LJUBLJANA ALERT

Beware Danger

I feel like the victim of a well-organised scam.

I'm being made to pay for damage caused by someone else or even no one at all.

I will no longer use EUROPCAR for my business and personal travel.

Scammers

Scammers.
This is a con operation where they send you a 1000€ invoice right after you've left the country.
Pure theft, they made-up one scratch and charge m 800€ for a 1cm scratch on the rear bumper
+ charge 70 euros for cleaning when they said it's included.

Please be very careful, they are pure thieves

Thieves. Do not use.

They charged my card days after the car was returned, without telling me first, for cleaning the car. Cleaning the car should be a part of their normal procedures anyway to ensure hygiene and standards for every customer.
They charged me more than 700% of the cost to clean a car, they will not explain why or how it costs them so much to clean a car, they will not communicate with me.

Simply awful..Never again.

Simply awful... Aggressive and surly agent and ..having hired around forty cars in Ljubljana...with ALL other companies at the airport, having been helpful and charming...Hell will freeze before I would hire a car from Europcar again.. I was given a car with 3/4 tank of fuel and was told the fuel gauge was faulty as it ""was a Renault" and they had personally filled the car. Went straight to a petrol station and guess what .?was the tank full?? No ..of course not ...put in 18plus euro and not even full then !!...Took it back with way more than I was given only to be threatened that they would charge me for fuel .. even though I had given the car back with way more fuel than than they gave me !! Even had an email for the check in of the car..whilst waiting for my flight.. confirming there was MORE fuel when I gave the car back than at the check out !!! But the same aggressive agent in a phone call while I was waiting to board my flight maintaining I should have put even more fuel in. Was this to make up for the fact that whoever rented it before me hadn't filled the tank? And trying to make me responsible for that mistake that was missed when the car was checked in? SERIOUSLY?... Just as well I had photos of the fuel gauge and fuel receipts to confirm exactly what I said and did ...or I think the outcome would have been different and I would have been charged...
.Because I had proof..the threat to charge me was suddenly dropped !!. Hmmmm !!I will NEVER EVER use Europcar again not in Slovenia or anywhere else on Earth !!..Dreadful experience and very stressful and on the day I collected the car ..was told the car was full ..took EIGHT calls to get through to challenge what I was told... Be Aware ..and check everything...but better still use SIXT.Atet.Green Motion .Flizzr..Auto Union ..Anyone else instead !!

No nonsense car rental @Europcar

I am happy to report on a troublefree and no nonsense Car rental from Europcar.
I arranged pickup on Novo Mesto and drop off in Ljubljana. I was given an upgraded car VW T-Cross (almost new)instead of a Seat Ibiza.
There was no pressure selling of Comprehensive insurance etc and the staff were pleasant throughout.
I returned the car to Ljubljana airport instead of the City centre and there was no issue with this.
All in all a perfect transaction. Thank you.

About time

Booked a Renault Twingo for my wife and I in Slovenia. I did this online via the uk site, charged me £58 for 4 days. Which is excellent value. I took out the min insurance, shouldn't have but I did.

The pick up was ok, bloke was a little stern, but feel it was a language barrier thing and/or Christmas Eve thing. was told on the email I received the deposit would be £290 but he wanted €700, approx £550. Erm.. well I paid it and we were off, bit confused by the sticker thing, where you could drive anywhere, didn't realise he meant it paid for tolls, until our rep at the hotel told us.

Car was good, did its job. Returned 4 days later, when through all the hand car back it bit. All ok, when does the block come off my credit card? Automatically, was the answer. ok thanks.

Get back to England and after reading the reviews on TrustPilot started pooping my pants. Credit card company said wait until 31/12/2015 when it was meant to come off and it did!!!

I was really worried about not getting my money back but so far it has been ok. Maybe its just the Slovenian company that are very good, I dont know.

Anyway, pleased all round. Must push their rating up a little bit I suppose.
